Exit II

"An exit please, and we'll come too, A harshest silence, A lonely few, The calling of angels, Still rings in your head, While echoes of mortality, Make you cry in your bed...

...We had to go with them, This illustrious few, When they lied to us openly, And opened up doors that were new, The call of the wicked, The call of the fame, So we bet down bravely, On this magnificent game...

...Who knows what they said there, Who knows what they meant, When all we had in this lifetime, On these gambles were spent, Why follow the angel, With his remark and surprise, With his hollowed out figure, And his lust painted eyes...

...Why follow this hardship, With its darkness and thralls, When we were offered pure decadence, With all its gold painted walls, We cower in excellence, We hide with our pride, Why question our masters, When we don't know they just lied...

Surely we're famous, Surely our treachery is loved, Why push back with the specters, When what we get might be shoved, A dark path rises before us, As we make amends with our crimes, At least we all go down together, In this most holy of times...

Why didn't we fight this, Why not take his hand, Not in sureness but sorrows, As we leave the promised land."
